Build A Profitable Opt-In List
In 3 Quick EZ-WiseSteps™
Many of us are seeking to find sales in new avenues online. For some, you may have even purchased a new website custom to your needs but after several months of being online with no sales— you finally realize that you need a good opt-in list.
After reading countless articles seeking expert advices, you discover many success stories of people who created a small fortune using opt-in lists. Eureka! You finally decide to have one of your own. Thinking you have everything there is to know about opt-in lists, followed the advices of so-called Gurus to the T yet you still did not make a profit.
In fact, you may even be losing money at this juncture due to:.
-
You maybe hiring writers to flesh out your site content, or there are some unexpected expenses incurred, even if
-
You have a big list, but only a very small percentage actually buys from you, you are still losing profit.
-
You will realize this only after a few months when you see your statistics and sales figures.
So what could have gone wrong? Why did others succeed where you have failed? The most common mistake is that you jumped straight right in without a StepWise™ Plan. You chose a topic where you thought your niche content would be quite popular and would quickly earn real money. Sadly, this just was not the case. Simply because you blasted the list did not mean people would be compelled to buy instantly. Fear creeps into the boardroom.
Many new to the Net have Eureka moments followed even more suddenly by a moment of dark disdain. The plan failed to pay the campaign forward to a successful venture milestone. Many faced with such red ink bleeding in every sector end their enterprise. Most cut their losses in hopes they can someday return to the game.
I would caution that before the Cut ’n’ Run maneuver, for those who have started an opt-in list as failure is closing in on your plan, consider rejuvenating your failed venture.[1]
For those who are starting[2], here are three quick EZ-WiseSteps™ to build a profitable opt-in list.
1) Relationship Build First— Get your customers to trust you and your products. Just product launching with an opt-in list does not make you an expert or even a believable seller. Prepare many articles to publish before you start sending offers to your opt-in list. Ensure you write about the topic you know (research and fully immerse yourself into the product niche), informally prelaunch to get started… publishing many to your site inviting the special few to the initial event. Explore related niche forums first to gain knowledge about your customers’ needs, about their wants and desires; then target those wants and needs in all that you do.
Join forums from other adjacent niche sites as well. Post straightforward answers to the forum’s members while providing expert advices and recommendations. As you build that needed trust, you will be able to start traffic flowing to your own opt-in list. You can build a base as well with other forum users and owners. You can ask them to join your list. Friends are always good customers. Post a link to your site in the signature file or in the context of your answers so that they may be able to see what your business is.
The certain truth is the money will only flow in when your consumers and subscribers believe enough to trust in you. They want a product or service that could be a good exchange for their money. People are not going to buy something out of your recommendation if they do not know you. You will need testimonials to recount prior success from other who did trust you and were satisfied. Posting other forms of Proof that supports value and urgency to close will increase your conversions of prospects to buyers. At this point, graduate the prospect to the buyers list.
2) Find a product or service that people want and need then provide it through your venture. Although it may not be your forte, if you provide a service and product that you have researched and learned about well, you can carry it on forward to add it to your product offering. Invest your time, effort and money that you could sell as well as the buyers or subscribers of your opt-in list can use. Consider having an OTO “One Time Offer” Upsell a more expensive product. You may to save time simply offer an affiliate link to a larger ticket item. Before you send them to the affiliate site, ensure you have them in your opt-in list and if they buy, add their data to the list of buyers.
While it is true that it is best to sell something that you have interest in, take note not all have the same interests as you if you decide to sell something that is not entirely popular or profitable the venture may fail. You will see the profits come in only if your research is accurate and timely. Provide your subscribers with promotional material in rich-media that they could actually use, rebrand and virally spread around the Net.
3) Make friends with other opt-in list owners. Owners who have already launched a successful product or service can become a JV joint venture partner. Often the successful people are the ones who have the experience in this niche: the best teacher is experience. Tons of articles are available for you on the internet to use, there is nothing like getting a first hand account from someone you trust.
Experienced opt-in list builders will be able to tell you because they have gone through it. While different situations occur for different people, the general concept can still be very helpful. There are many things to avoid and these people will be able to tell you which ones.
Building a profitable opt-in list does not just happen overnight. There are many preparations and tasks to do. Opt-in lists are built from scratch, as your list grows, you should also maintain the quality of your list. Keep it organized and manageable. Get or hire help if need be, just make sure that your subscribers are happy and satisfied and they will be willing to buy from you.

[1] Depending on the severity of the loss and the remaining funds available, I would hire a solution provider with a history of rescuing successfully ventures with makeovers. Do not wait until hope is gone… ask for advice.
